Justin Mattes-- Poetry--The Quick Red Fox and The Lazy Brown Dog

The quick red fox jumped over,
Like two little kids playing a crazy game of leap frog.
If this hound were younger that red smart ass would be dead,
But he's just an old mutt trying to lay in his bed, can't lift his head
Suddenly the caninie rises and gives a deep, dark growel,
Making the fox sweat so much he needs a towel.
One swift swoop of the dog's paw sends the fox flying across the room,
However the best has just begun to seal the fox's doom.
The hound jumps at the fox and sinks his wh ite teeth,
While chewing the hound thinks "I kind of like dark meat!
